As a result of regulatory changes made by the Federal Reserve Board, Lubbock National Bank will no longer authorize and pay overdrafts on everyday debit card transactions, unless you request it.

Impacted Accounts & Transactions

• Any account with ATM or debit card access is included (checking, savings, IMMA, payroll cards)
• Only accounts with ATM and debit card access are impacted
• Any ATM transaction that overdraws a consumer's account is included, not just withdrawals
• Non-recurring (one-time) debit card transactions covered in the rules include:
  • Point of sale (POS) transactions
  • Online and phone transactions

The new requirements affect new and existing account holders.

The new rules do not apply to checks, ACH or recurring debit transactions. Business accounts are not impacted. Transactions include one-time purchases made using your debit card at grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations and other merchants, as well as one-time purchases or payments made online or by phone.

When you don't have enough money in your checking or designated overdraft protection account to pay for an expense, your consent allows Lubbock National Bank to consider authorizing and paying the transaction using your overdraft protection service.

Most people find it comforting to know Lubbock National Bank will attempt to authorize and pay overdrafts for everyday debit card transactions.

Overdraft Coverage

An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but Lubbock National Bank pays it anyway. We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:

1. We have standard overdraft practices that come with your account.
2. We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as a link to a savings account, which may be less expensive than our standard over draft practices.
